yummy
no, I'm not referring to the leftovers, which by the way are plentiful at 1023, but rather a new net discovery. it's called del.icio.us and that also happens to be its url. what is it, you ask. awesome, I answer. the site allows you to keep a set of bookmarks that you can add to and access from anywhere. they can be organized using tags and it is also possible to see who else has the same links on their account. anyone can access your bookmarks, making it very useful for sharing information with others. the concept is referred to as social bookmarking, and is also available on sites like furl and spurl.
del.icio.us supports rss, can be synced with a number of browsers in a variety of ways, and allows you to post using a java-scripted link that can be conveniently placed in your browser's bookmarks bar. I'm not quite sure how I missed this for so long, just recently I was working on a page of links in simple html hosted on my university web space that I planned to use when browsing away from my home base. I knew I needed it, I just didn't know it existed. there's even a nice dashboard widget that simplifies posting.
take a look at my del.icio.us. it's free too.
happy sunday.
